IX. ELENA MATULIONIENĖ
Dr. Elena Matulionienė is the coordinator of the folk art studio of Klaipėda Centre of Ethnic Culture, expert of national costume, and designer, who devoted a large part of her life to the research of delmonas in Lithuania Minor. In 2018, she defended her doctoral dissertation in the field of ethnology at Klaipėda University entitled Development of Textile Bags in the National Costume of Lithuania Minor. Since 1990, she taught a theoretical course in Lithuanian folk art at Klaipėda University and supervised students' laboratory works, taught traditional custom arts and handicrafts – embroidery and sewing of delmonas, tablet weaving, braiding and weaving. Together with students, she has organised many delmonas exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Elena Matulionienė willingly shares her experience at scientific conferences, seminars, conducts delmonas workshops, prepares publications on the topics of national costume, and has encouraged many enthusiast of handicrafts to embroider delmonas.
