Traditional Instrumental Music Ensemble "Senoliai," led by Jonas Petrauskas and Elena Šalkauskienė

Founded in 1982, the ensemble "Senoliai" consists of mature musicians distinguished by their unique folk playing style. The group aims to preserve and popularize ancient music traditions. Their repertoire includes a variety of music, ranging from the oldest tunes to Lithuanian instrumental music pieces and songs from the interwar and postwar periods. The energetic musicians are known for their ability to create a joyful atmosphere, and they have often returned from national festivals and events with awards for being the most cheerful and youthful ensemble. "Senoliai" are frequently invited to participate in international folklore festivals both in Lithuania and abroad.

Awards

In 2002, the ensemble was recognized as the best children's folklore ensemble in Lithuania and was awarded the "Aukso paukštė".
